Float Friday #6 Strawberry Lime

Welcome back to another float friday! Today I have a strawberry and lime float, which,
well not my favorite was still good. I used the same soda as in the coconut lime float because the strawberry ice cream was so creamy and I thought the key lime soda would go well with it. I personally do not like strawberry ice cream at all but some how the very creamy soda and ice cream made the float taste more like a strawberry milkshake. But all in all It was a ( surprisingly ) good float.

The Ingredients:

One single serving carton of Haagen Daz Strawberry Ice Cream
A bottle of key lime soda
one frosted cup ( frosted part is optional )
a straw.

Start by pouring a small amount of soda into your glass.

Scoop your ice cream over your soda. By the way make sure to scoop your ice cream out and not just dumping a carton shaped brick of ice cream into your float.

Top with more soda and enjoy! Also I would like to tell you that if you stir your ice cream into the soda I tastes just like a strawberry milk shake.

Float Friday #5 Coconut & Lime

Key lime soda is one of my favorites and ( even though I have only tried it once ) coconut is also one of my favorites. So I mixed them together and I had a float. The only small problem was that the coconut ice cream had chunks ( of coconut ) in it so the float was a bit chunky so if texture is not your thing then this recipe is not for you.

The ingredients:

One bottle of key lime soda
One single serving carton of Haagen Daz Coconut Macaroon Gelato
A glass ( I forgot to frost mine)
A straw.

Pour a small amount of soda into your glass.

Scoop all of your gelato over the soda.

Top with remaining soda, add your straw and enjoy!

Microwave Monday #3 Red Velvet Mug Cake

Red velvet cake is a classic and I have no idea why I waited until not to make one. Instead of a cream cheese frosting I decided to make a cream cheese filling ( just like a surprise cup cake ). And also just so you know don't limit your self to only red food coloring. You can use green, blue, or any bold other color ( so not pink, yellow, ect ). By the way I forgot to add a drop of almond into the filling when I took the pictures so if you want you can add the almond extract.

The Ingredients:

1 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1/8 tsp Baking powder
1 1/2 Tbsp milk
1 Tbsp Beaten egg
1 1/2 Tbsp oil
1/4 tsp Vanilla
Red gel food coloring.

For the Filling:

1 Tbsp Cream cheese
1/2 tsp Beaten egg
1 1/2 tsp Sugar.

Start by adding your dry ingredients to a mug or bowl.

Whisk them together.

Add the wet ingredients ( but not the red food coloring ).

Now we add the red food coloring. Add as much as you want depending on how red of a cake you want.

Now for the filling! Stir together all of the ingredients until more or less smooth.

Drop the filling into the middle of the cake.

And microwave for 1 minute.

And your done! A quick, easy, and classic cake.

Float Friday #4 Latte

Today I am making a latte float out of coffee ice cream and vanilla soda ( the same kind as the Pure float ). This one is very good, and if you stir the ice cream in it gets even better. All of the floats are the same in the way that if you let the ice cream melt a bit the flavors combined more. Another fun part of stirring your float is that it turns it into a milkshake.

The Ingredients:

One bottle of Vanilla Cream Soda
One Single serving carton of Haagen Daz coffee ice cream
A frosted Glass ( the frosted part is optional )
A straw.

Pour a small amount of soda into your glass.

Scoop your ice cream over the soda.

Finish by pouring the soda over the top and adding your straw. I hope you enjoy this very much!

Microwave Monday #2 Microwave Honey Bun Cake!

I am so excited to post this recipe. All of the microwave yellow cakes I have seen and tried have been eggy, dense, and rubbery but my recipe is even better than the chocolate cake I usually make. How I made this recipe is I took my base recipe for chocolate mug cake and replaced the cocoa powder with flour, replaced the egg for an egg yolk, and I used melted butter instead of oil. Since yellow cake needs to be rich and buttery I used the egg yolk and butter so that it actually tastes like yellow cake. So with out further ado I present.

The ingredients:

6 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 Tbsp white sugar
3 Tbsp melted butter
3 Tbsp milk
1egg yolk
1/2 - 1 tsp vanilla.

The Filling:

1-2 TBSP brown sugar
cinnamon to taste

The glaze:

1/4 cup icing sugar
a splash of milk

Start by mixing together the flour, sugar and baking powder.

Add the butter, milk, egg yolk, and vanilla.

Mix it all together.

In a small bowl mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.

In another mug pour half of the batter.

Sprinkle all of the brown sugar mixture on top of the batter.

Carefully pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon mixture.

Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.

Let the cake cool slightly and while it is cooling mix together the milk and icing sugar.
drizzle it over the cake. Now your all done! I hope you enjoyed this recipe as much as I did!

Float Friday #3 Black Forest

Its Float Friday! Today I have a black forest float which worked amazingly. I used cherries and cream soda ( Stewards brand ) and chocolate ice cream ( the haagen daz single serving carton as usual ). But the odd part of this recipe is that the soda did not have that much cherry flavor on its own, but the chocolate ice cream gave the soda a stronger cherry flavor. I made this for my dad ( MacInfinity ) and he loved it but if you do not like cherry then this is not a recipe for you.

The Ingredients:

One bottle of cherry soda
One single serving carton of Haagen Daz chocolate ice cream
A frosted glass ( the frosted part is optional )
A straw

Start by pouring small amount of soda into your glass.

Scoop the chocolate ice cream over the soda.

Top with more chocolate ice cream and add your straw. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do and I hope it becomes one of your favorites!

Microwave Monday #1 Mocha Mug Cake!

Happy April fools day as well as Microwave Monday! Just so you know this is an honest post with out any April fools tricks. This is also a post that I did on BoyWhoCooks but I have changed it a bit. The original  recipe was double the size of this one. I think that the usual size of mug cakes is way to big for one person to eat ( even though I have been able to ). I hope you like this recipe as much as I do.

The ingredients:

1 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1/8 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 Tbsp coffee
3/4 tsp instant coffee powder
1 Tbsp beaten egg
1 1/2 Tbsp oil
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 Tbsp chocolate chips

Start by adding all of the dry ingredients to a bowl or mug.

Mix them together.

Now dissolve the instant coffee powder in the coffee.

Add the coffee mixture and other wet ingredients to the mug.

And mix that together until it is smooth.

Add the chocolate chips to the batter and microwave for 1 minute.

And your done! A quick and easy recipe that takes less then 5 minutes to make.
