Float Friday # 18 Fair Food!

In six days the Utah State Fair is starting! So in honor of the fair I have made the fair food float!
Cotton Candy is a limited time flavor of Ben and Jerry's which is very sad because it is one of my favorites. lets jump right in to the recipe!

The Ingredients:

Ben & Jerry's Cotton Candy Ice Cream
Jones Blue Bubblegum Soda
A glass cup
a straw

Start by Adding your ice cream to a cup.

Top with remaining soda and add you straw. I loved this one and while not my favorite it still tasted like a normal float unlike the Neapolitan and and Strawberry Lime floats. I hope you like this one as much as I did

Microwave Monday #14 Quick Customizable Mug Cake

This is my favorite mug cake. Its yummy, quick, and requires almost no prep. It also can be almost 100% customizable because you can pick your cake flavor, your toppings, and your garnish.

Ingredients:

One box of angle food cake.
One box of cake mix that is not angle food
Water
Your choice of toppings
Your choice of garnish

Start by whisking the angel food cake and your choice of boxed cake mix together.

Pour into a plastic bag.
And ( this is personal preference) write "1/3 cup mix with 3 TBSP water".

And that's all.
Your finished, just add 1/3 of a cup of mix to your bowl or mug.

Add three TBSP water and mix very well. At this point it should be very foamy.

Add your topping: see tip ( it will sink to the bottom of the cup or bowl in microwave).

Microwave for one minute.
Remove from the microwave and turn out onto a plate.

And add your garnish like whipped cream, mint, coffee beans, or maraschino cherries.

Tip:
Chocolate Upside Down Cake: put hot fudge sauce in the bottom of a mug and pour the batter over the top.

For a Caramel Cake: drizzle caramel sauce over the batter and don't mix.

Float Friday #17 The Fizz Float.

When I heard about The Fizz Cup I thought it looked super cool! So I contacted the company and they generously sent me some.

It basically works like this:

This is a picture from there site.

A nice part about the package that I got was that it included straws. I know that straws aren't the best part, but it was a nice touch.

So besides from four straws this is what I received:

Four fizz cups.

And four lids.

They also included a instruction sheet (which is the first picture above).

Now lets jump into the recipe!

The ingredients:
Sherbet
A bottle of sprite, mellow yellow, what ever you have that is lemon lime flavored

Start by filling your cup with sherbet. And slide a straw through the hole in the middle.

Now screw on the cup onto the bottle. make sure you put the lid on because I forgot to when I took the picture.

Squeeze the bottle of soda and watch as it makes a cool effect. As for a rating this is what I will give it:

Ease of use: *****
Effectiveness: ***
Portability: ****
Fun Factor: *****
Reusability: ***

All in all a great product that I would definitly get it again. You can find it at http://www.icecreamfizz.com.

So as always thanks for reading!

Microwave Monday #12 Potato Chips!

Its summer and everyone is grilling burgers, hot dog, and steaks. And everyone wants to have chips with their barbecue. So this post is a ( slightly ) healthier option to normal chips.

The ingredients:
a potato
olive oil
salt
pepper

Start with a nice clean potato.

Slice it into small pieces. Rub olive oil on to your chips and sprinkle on your seasoning.

Microwave four times for two minutes each.

And thats how you make potato chips!

Float Friday #16 Lime Ricky Sodas

AriZone brand… Tea? Soda? Well whatever they make doesn't  necessarily matter much. So getting back on topic, I have drank all of them. All four varieties, including: Mango, lemon, cherry, and grape! My favorites are cherry and grape. I personally didn't like the mango just because of the fact that it was mango flavored. By the way why I haven't done as many floats and more float components is because I want to branch out a bit more by doing soda reviews and ice cream recipes so that you (the viewers) can make floats with higher quality ingredients. So once again thank you for reading.
