Microwave Monday #19 Pumpkin Purée

Todays post is both a microwaved and a baked pumpkin!

The ingredients:
2 sugar/pie pumpkins

Cut the pumpkins half.

Scoop out the guts!

Now if your baking your pumpkins then wrap them in foil and bake them for an hour at 425˚.

If your microwaving your pumpkin then chop it into chunks.

Put into a microwave safe bowl, cover it with wax paper or plastic wrap, and cook for 10 minutes. Stir it and then cook for 10 more minutes.

Scoop out the baked pumpkins flesh and put into a food processor. For the microwaved version just cut the skin off off the and put the flesh into a food processor.

Blend until smooth. I would also suggest pouring the pumpkin through a strainer so that any chunks are removed.

I hope you liked this recipe, and and as always enjoy!

Creepy Candy #4 Lollypops

Another Creepy candy that afterwards I regretted. But this time the creepy part wasn't that bad and the candy part was gross. So as usual I went to are import store and got this:

The sad part is that the lolly pop didn't taste that good… There were ones that had jalapeño seeds in them which would have been tastier just because licking some thing spicy is better then trying to lick something that is dry and sharp.

All in all I wouldn't get this again but it was still fun to have.

Creepy Candy #3 Larvets

So today the government shut down… The national parks are closed, the poor are no longer getting food stamps, and boarder patrol are being asked to work without pay…I read this post on Facebook and thought it was something that we should all do:
"If you know a family relying on WIC, this would be a good time to slip them a grocery store gift card, if you can."
And make sure you get a flu shot while you can because the CDC is closed!

On a more positive topic I ate mealworms… Or Larvets as the package says but, since I have been around a LOT of meal worms  (I own a lizard) I can tell that "Larvets" are actually mealworms.

The only gross part about these is that they feel like live mealworms and looked like them. Other wise they tasted… Plain.

They were dry and flavorless. Otherwise it was fun and I hope you have enjoyed this post!

Microwave Monday #17 Pumpkin Spice Pudding!

Since it snowed here and summer officially ended so its time to crack out the fun winter recipes! I found this recipe HERE.

The ingredients:
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
 1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 egg
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix together the sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and corn starch.

Slowly whisk in the milk.

In a separate bowl whisk the egg.

Microwave until thick. This took me 30-60 seconds or so.

Whisk half of they pudding into the egg mixture and then back into the pudding.

Cool until thickened.

Whisk in your butter and vanilla. Don't over mix or your pudding thins out.

Top with whipped cream and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice!
