Float Friday #9 Orange and Lemon

Almost all citrus works together well. But orange, lemon, and lime are the best together. So to finally finish that lemon sorbet I bought. It took me three posts to use one normal sized carton of lemon sorbet. Not that i'm complaining any excuse to make a float is a good one.

The Ingredients:
One bottle of orange soda ( the one I used was a bit gross)
A glass
A straw

Add a small amount of soda to your glass.

Scoop your sorbet over the soda.

Pour the soda over the top and pop a straw in it!

Microwave Monday #6 Sugar Cookie Cake

I was attempting to make a caramel cake and it tasted just like a sugar cookie. Me and my Mom were very surprised because we thought that using caramel instead of sugar would taste caramel-y… Well I guess you learn something new every day :)

The Ingredients:
6 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 Tbsp melted butter
1 egg yolk
3 Tbsp milk
1 tsp-1 Tbsp white sugar

Add your sugar to a bowl ( a mug might work).

Whisk it together.

Add everything else except for the white sugar.

Whisk that together.

And microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.

The moment it comes out of the microwave sprinkle the sugar. This is one of my favorites and I hope you like it too!

Float Friday #8 Lemonade Lemon

Jones berry lemonade soda is my favorite! And My favorite sorbet is lemon. So:
Jones berry lemonade soda + Lemon Sorbet = one of the best floats I have made. But a twist is that I used a frozen blue raspberry flavored RedVines or Twizzlers as a straw. How I did the straw was I took the RedVine/Twizzlers and put a skewer through the middle and then froze it for about an hour.

The Ingredients:

One frozen blue or yellow RedVine/Twizzlers.
One frosted glass ( the frosted part is optional)

Pour a small amount of soda into your frosted glass.

Scoop your sorbet over the soda.

Top with the rest of soda and add your frozen candy straw and enjoy!
PS: This one is VERY sour so be carful.

Microwave Monday #5 Caramel Sugar.

This is a great recipe for those who enjoy a verity of options in flavor. How it works is you take your sugar melt it cool that and then grind it into dust. But the customizable part of this is just how dark you want your caramel to be:

This shows white sugar to the darkest burnt sugar.
Light gold: this sugar has a very light caramel taste almost like cotton candy.
Amber: this one has a slight caramel flavor and is less has cotton candy flavor.
Dark Amber: Very caramel-y not barely bitter and when molten will smoke a bit.
Burnt: VERY bitter not very sweet but has a lot of flavor.

The Ingredients:

1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp water
Cooking spray
Food processor

Add your sugar to a measuring cup.

Add the water.

microwave for 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 minutes.

Spray a flat plate or pan and pour out your candy. Let it cool.

Set up your food processor.

Break your candy into your food processor.

Blend until desired size. Thanks for reading :)

Float Friday #7 Ginger Lemon

This is start to of three posts that use lemon sorbet. I was shocked about how much sorbet is in there. One normal sized ( not the big containers) of lemon sorbet made three floats! One funny thing I noticed about Häagen Daz is that the flavors that they know there customers are going to eat a lot of they don't ever bother to make a mini carton I am sure they think "They are going to eat the whole carton any way don't even bother making a small size". Any way back to the float, I made this one out of ginger beer and lemon sorbet after I tried Haribos Lemon Ginger Candy ( which are amazing ).

The Ingredients:

One bottle of ginger beer ( make sure there is real ginger in it)
1/3 of a carton of Häagen Daz Zesty Lemon Sorbet.
a frosted glass
a straw.

Start by adding a small amount of soda to your gall.

Add scoops of sorbet on top of the soda.

Finish by pouring over more soda and adding a straw. And by the way if you want a perfect slushy stir the sorbet into the soda. I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!

Microwave Monday #4 Cookies And Cream/Oreo Cake

Oreos make great baking ingredients. They can be in the bottom of cupcakes, used as decoration, or beaten into frosting. I both added them to the cake and the frosting. I also made it into my first ever microwave layer cake, my first frosted microwave cake, and as a final achievement I made my first white microwave cake.

The ingredients:

1 egg white
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup or 1/2 stick of butter
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
4 Oreo cookies
Vanilla Buttercream
and a 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2 lunch container.

Start by beating the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

Add all of the other ingredients except for the buttercream and cookies.

Beat it all together until smooth.

Mix in two crushed Oreos into the batter.

Pour into the pan.

Microwave for 1-2 minutes and allow to cool completely.

After that I cut the cake in half and stacked them onto of each other just a layer cake.

Finish by beating the remaining Oreos into the frosting, filling the cake and then frosting the cake.
